Applications to the master course and the Erasmus Mundus scholarships for the 2019 intake for non-EU students are closed

Applications to the master course and the Erasmus Mundus scholarships for the 2019 intake for EU students are open and will close on May 30th 2019.

The student candidate / scholarship holder declares to not have already benefited from a previous EMJMD scholarship or an Erasmus Mundus Master Course/Joint Doctorate scholarship. The student candidate / scholarship holder commits to not benefit from another EU funded scholarship scheme to follow the same EMJMD course for the entire period of the course.The financial support shall be repaid by the scholarship holder in case of fraud or false declaration.


Here are the instructions:

To access the online application webform, you need to be logged in.

Please give us your first and last name at emerald@ulg.ac.be and we will provide you with a username and a password.


 Make sure that you have all the required documents at your disposal before you start the application process (upload your documents exclusively in jpeg, png or pdf formats):

  1. A copy of your passport (or ID) and an English or French translation of your birth certificate. ( at this stage the English document is enough. Only selected students will have to send us a French version of the document)
  2. A Photo (ID format).
  3. Your updated resume in English (maximum 1 page).
  4. A Personal Motivation letter in English.
  5. A copy of your High School Diploma and a sworn translation into English.
  6. A copy of your higher education studies diploma and  transcript of records with a sworn translation into English.
  7. An English Proficiency test/document for non-English speakers (TOEFL min.90, IELTS min. 6.5 or any other document stating your English proficiency B2-C1 min).
  8. Official documents highlighting your accomplishments over the last five years (studies, internships, employments).
  9. A recommendation letter in English.
  10. An official document issued within 12 months before the submission deadline (Jan. 2019) showing your place of residence.Your document must be dated. It could be a residence certificate issued in accordance with your municipality normal registration rules or a certificate from your place of work, study or training issued by the employer or institution in question.

*All copies have to be sworn. Simple translations can be accepted, but once in Belgium you will have to prove the original documents. That is why it is useful to upload sworn copies.
